Express Entry is the main way the Canadian government provides permanent residence to skilled workers.
Eligible candidates submit their profile on the website of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). They receive a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score. About every two weeks, IRCC invites immigration candidates with the highest CRS scores to apply for permanent residence.
There are 3 immigration programs managed through Express Entry:
- Federal Skilled Worker Program
- Federal Skilled Trades Program
- Canadian Experience Class
Each program has its own requirements to meet to become a part of Express Entry Pool. To find out your eligibility, you will examine on the following;
- Nationality
- Age
- Language ability
- Family members
- Education
- Work experience
- Details on any job offer (if any)
If you’re eligible for one of the above programs, you can also apply through Express Entry for the Provincial Nominee Program. If you’re nominated, you’ll get extra points so you can be invited to apply quickly.
